Girls if you’re one of those people like me who somehow can’t decide what you want to be for Halloween until the night OF Halloween, then this is for you. Throughout the past few years, Halloween costumes has paved the way towards PR scandal as teenagers, college students, and young adults tend to model their costumes off of celebrities and scandalous trends. Let’s go back in time to relive Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” outfit and Regina George’s cut out tank top in “Mean Girls.” Why do many feel as if Halloween is the time in which he or she can dress provocatively? Not only does this generate negative attention, but human morals are devalued as well. This year it’s time for a change.
I found three simple and classy DIY costumes from Pinterest (www.pinterest.com) that you can recreate from the clothes in your closet, your everyday make up, and even with some of your desk supplies. Each costume takes about 5-20 minutes to complete, how wonderful is that? Have fun and good luck!

You can do it ladies!
What you need to do: Grab a blue blouse or denim shirt and roll up the sleeves to your elbow. For bottoms, wear a pair of your favorite high waisted shorts or pants. Pin your hair back with a bandanna (a red one preferably, but any will do!) and tie it in a bow at the top. Your hair can remain in a bun or ponytail, whatever you prefer. To spice it up a little, create a big 1950s pin curl in front. Complete your look with winged eyeliner and red lipstick.
You’ll be taking selfies all night!
What you need to do: Get a piece of cardboard or poster board, paint the top three inches blue and write “Instagram” in white. Simply add your handle and cut out a window in the middle so you can pose for pictures with your friends. Make sure you include likes, comments, and a hashtag!
Dorothy? Is that you?
What you need to do: Of course, wear a cozy flannel and jeans. Grab a big, floppy hat and use a pink, cream based blush to paint rosy cheeks. Next, draw stiches over your nose and jaw to pull the look together. Dramatic eye makeup makes it even better! Finish with a pink lipstick.
You don’t have a hat? No problem! You can dress the look down by wearing a flannel and jeans. Remove the scarecrow makeup and wear a bandanna instead. Rather than being a scarecrow, you can be a country girl instead!
