This year Boston University PRSSA has been selected to host its eighth annual Regional Conference titled PRAdvanced: #FuelTheFuture. As a Chapter that has been selected by the National Committee to host a Regional Conference it is our duty to partake in a national initiative that the National Committee has put into place. This year, we wanted to align our Conference with the community service initiative and give back to the city that has allowed us to host such sensational Regional Conferences in the past, Boston. The Greater Boston Food Bank is an organization that hits home to many of our Chapter members as it services the homeless in the Greater Boston Area. Please help us in our efforts to raise 500 dollars for the Greater Boston Food Bank by donating here.
About the Greater Boston Food Bank:
The Greater Boston Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in the New England area and one of the largest in the nation through their partnership with Feed America. Their goal is to feed at least one meal a day to those in need in eastern Massachusetts. In 2013 GBFB distributed almost 48 millions pounds of food, equivalent to healthy meals for 545,000 people.
GBFB benefits from their 25,000 volunteers who help sort and distribute the food donated through the food industry, food drives and financial contributions. Through all of the assistance from the greater Boston community, GBFB is able to reach many different groups in need including children.
