How To Get Involved With Boston University PRSSA
Missed our first meeting? Not to worry. Here’s all the information you need to get involved with BU’s Chapter of PRSSA. Aside from our Chapter’ weekly meetings on Thursdays at 5pm in COM 106, there are plenty of ways to get involved, and get hands-on experience working in public relations, event planning, and digital media.
Digital Media Team The Digital Media Team is the backbone of our Chapter’s online presence. Whether you are interested in writing, videography, working with social media, graphic design, or research, the Digital Media Team has plenty of opportunities to get involved. We are always looking for enthusiastic and insightful students to contribute to our blog on a weekly basis, as well as students to help run our social media platforms.
The Digital Media Team will have its first meeting Monday, September 16th in the GSU (room TBD) . Can’t make the meetings, but still want to be involved? Email Christina Serrano at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to have you!
PR Advanced Conference Committee PR Advanced is a professional conference that takes place on the Boston University campus in February. This is our 8th year hosting a regional conference, and because this is such a large event to plan, we need all the help we can get! There are several positions on the team, including participant outreach, sponsorship outreach, social media, videography, career fair coordinators, and creative promotional development. No previous experience is necessary – everyone is welcome.
The PR Advanced Conference Committee’s first meeting will be held tonight, Sunday, September 15th at 7pm in CAS 116. If you have any questions, contact Brynn Murphy at email@example.com.
Unleashed Public Relations Unleashed PR is BU’s Chapter of PRSSA’s premier student-run firm, whose mission is to provide growth to clients as well as agency members. Comprised of Account Directors and Account Executives, members from all backgrounds have the opportunity to gain real-world PR experience by working on a team to develop a public relations strategy for real-world clients. This semester, PR Unleashed students will be working with three clients: Wiggio, Gourmet Boutique, and American Dream House. Each of the three clients will be assigned a team of account executives, under the direction of an account director.
No experience? No worries! Unleashed PR will hold monthly workshops to make sure teams are well ahead of the game.
Unleashed PR will hold its first meeting of the semester on Thursday, September 19th, location TBD. We will go over the basics of the agency, clients and positions. Email Krystle Lischwe with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
