Hollister, a large staffing firm on State Street in Boston, is looking for an intern to assist with public relations and social media. This is an unpaid internship, however, the value of working in a corporate environment and playing a role in real-time PR activities is immeasurable. The hours can be very flexible (around your schedule), but will need to be consistent from week-to-week. We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible (before the summer begins).
In this role, you will assist the PR & Marketing Coordinator with a wide range of public relations and marketing duties to include: drafting press releases; researching media outlets and reporters; compiling media spreadsheets; conducting media-related research; monitoring editorial calendars, awards nominations deadlines and upcoming events; and developing marketing collateral. You may also be asked occasionally to assist the Communications Coordinator with various administrative duties. On the social media front you would assist with the development of blog topics and the writing of blogs; monitor the company’s Twitter and LinkedIn accounts and user communities; and conduct social media research.
Ideally, you will be a student or recent graduate of a liberal arts program looking to gain valuable office skills and learn the ins and outs of a busy company. You should be an excellent writer and communicator with a firm grasp on social media and its relevance in the corporate world. You should be proactive and creative, and willing to go above and beyond for the good of the team.
