Of Rags is a fair trade clothing retailer aiming to increase prosperity in Ghana through sustainable fashion. They urge people to make a difference by choosing to wear their eco-friendly clothing. After the clothes are made in Ghana and sold globally, 40 percent of the profits go back into the Ghanaian community to enhance public health and education systems. It is a goal of Of Rags to challenge individuals to think about where their clothes come from. Creating a sustainable lifestyle through fashion ensures better environments for communities such as Ghana and people all over the world. Of Rags strives to make the green movement less of a movement and more of the “norm” in the fashion world. So what are you waiting for? You can accept the status quo of fashion OR you can make a choice to wear the difference. test

But Hasan does more than just entertain. “From the Spirituals to Hip-Hop” is Hasan’s college lecture series, discussing the origins of Black Music in America and how music is used as a tool to fight oppression and invoke a spirit of resistance and resilience. In November of 2010, Hasan became the first U.S. hip hop artist to perform in Guinea-Bissau, where he not only participated in the Big Up GB Hip Hop Festival promoting free speech, but also conducted workshops at the SOS children’s village, discussing the history of hip hop, creative writing, and performing. Now, a year later, Hasan is preparing for the release of his new EP, a preview for his upcoming album “Life in Black and White.”
Erika Street is an MFA candidate in Film Production at Boston University. She is currently directing a short film entitled “Inside”, which is based on stories by prison inmates. Before starting production on “Inside”, Erika worked for the Emmy-Award winning studio, Log In Productions. She worked there as the associate producer and production manager. Her goal is to generate a reputation for this film and to submit it to several film festivals. Before “Inside” her directorial debut was “The Closure Myth”, which was broadcast nationally on LinkTV and internationally on AlJazeera English.
