Rachel Sprung (President): My name is Rachel Sprung, and I am SO excited to start off this year as President of PRSSA. I am a BUCOP student pursuing a Public Relations degree in COM and a Business Administration degree in SMG. This past summer I interned at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston as the Communications Intern, and the summer before that I interned at Nike Communications in New York City. I fell in love with PRSSA as a freshman planning the annual regional conference and participating in network opportunities and have been involved ever since! Don’t hesitate to talk to me about anything from PR to business to networking to anything on your mind! It’s going to be a fabulous year! Contact: rsprung@bu.edu
Eric Leist (Vice President): My name is Eric Leist, and I’m a PR major in the class of 2011. I’m also minoring in business administration. I’m fairly new to PRSSA, but I’ve been helping to run BUTV for the past two years. I’ve had some great experiences in PR and social media marketing so far while interning at Boston-based firms Mills & Company and 451 Marketing. This year I’ll be a social media intern for a recruiting start-up called TalentCulture and a corporate team building company. I’m your Exec VP this year and am excited to get started! Becky Steinberg (Professional Outreach Coordinator): I’m a senior PR major and I have been a PRSSA member since my freshman year. I’m originally from Holmdel, NJ, where I spent this summer, splitting my time between an internship and waitressing job. As this year’s Professional Outreach Coordinator, I will be trying my best to network Boston’s PRSA and get us great speakers. My favorite college experience thus far was studying abroad in Spain! I love more than anything to be helpful and meet new people, so feel free to ask me any questions about PRSSA, classes or anything BU! Contact: rtomikos@bu.edu
Emilie O’Toole (Vice President of Public Relations): My name is Emilie, and I am the VP of PR this year. I am a senior public relations major and business minor from Saint Paul, Minnesota. I am very interested in government and political communications and I hope to work in Washington, DC after I graduate in the spring. This past spring and summer, I was in DC interning for Senator Klobuchar (D-MN) and with APCO Worldwide, a strategic communications firm. I’m really excited for PRSSA this year and can’t wait to get to know all of you! Contact: eotoole@bu.edu
Allison Shannon (Social Media Coordinator): My name is Allison and I am a sophomore majoring in Public Relations with a minor in political science. I fell in love with PRSSA the moment I joined, getting involved with publicity for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in October 2009 and planning our regional conference with PR Advanced. I’m so excited to be your Social Media Coordinator this spring and looking forward to a great year! Contact: ashannon@bu.edu, @allieshan
Chelsea Alexander (Vice President of Finances): Hi PRSSAers! My name is Chelsea and I am a senior majoring in Advertising with a minor in Business Management. I have been involved in PRSSA, since I was a freshman and I absolutely love it (yes, even though I am an AD major, that’s how much I LOVE IT). I have learned so much through PRSSA that is applicable to not only PR majors but anyone! PRSSA has also helped me gain experience through some wonderful internships such as: Universal Studios Home Entertainment, The Museum of Fine Arts—Boston, 360 Public Relations, and most recently LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau. I am excited for another year of PRSSA and I hope you are too! Feel free to contact me with questions & suggestions. Contact: calexan@bu.edu
Alison Morris (Secretary): Hi there, I’m Alison! I’m a senior public relations major and have been in love with PRSSA since my freshman year at BU. I’m originally from Minnesota, but happily call Boston home. I spent last semester in London where I interned with the corporate practice group at Fleishman-Hillard. Now that I’m back in Mass., I’m interning at Morrissey & Co. — a Boston-based reputation management firm. I’ve also had wonderful intern experiences with the BU Office of Alumni Relations and the special events firm, Conventures, Inc. I’ve done a lot with PRSSA over the years, but I’m so excited to be Secretary this spring! I wouldn’t be where I am without the connections I’ve made with PRSSA, so please email or tweet me anytime about PR, school, life, etc.! Contact: morris.alison.l@gmail.com, @alisonmorris
